Lean Manufacturing Engineer-Contract- Union City, Ca

MAIN JOB DUTIES:

  1. Designs, improves, maintains and implements processes (equipment, machines, fixtures, etc.) to meet operational needs through monitoring, feedback from manufacturing leaders, supervisors, maintenance activities, operators and personal observation. Establishes and maintain effective preventive maintenance schedules for all processes.
  2. Develops manufacturing process plans which meet all manufacturing requirements for safety, ergonomics, process capability, quality and cost. Presents process concept proposals and implements approved processes on schedule and within budget. Promotes lean manufacturing, participates/leads process improvement initiatives, identifies improvement opportunities for safety, cost, ergonomics, quality and process capability improvements.
  3. Monitors and assures assigned processes are and continue to be compliant with all safety, environmental and regulatory requirements. Audit both administrative and engineering controls. Communicates findings, takes corrective action and designs/implements engineered solutions when appropriate to maintain effective compliance.
  4. Monitors quality of production and assures assigned processes are capable of producing at or above required quality levels. Perform root cause analyses, takes corrective action and designs/implements engineered solutions when appropriate to maintain effective compliance.
  5. Develops and documents manufacturing methods. Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products so as to promote efficient utilization. Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency. Assure all documentation is archived and maintained in accordance with standard practice. Trains maintenance and operating associates on new and revised process procedures. Assures production rates are achievable and routinely repeatable by capable operators.
  6. Resolves emergent engineering related production barriers. Provide technical assistance to maintenance and operations as necessary to meet the needs of the business. Does what is required to safely get processes back on line at the minimum loss to the business.
  7. Performs other similar and related duties as required.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing engineering capacity.

SKILLS/KNOWELDGE/ABILITIES:

  • Mechanical, Electrical, Safety, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Skills sets. Communication, verbal send/receive and written.
  • Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize and accomplish a diversified work load.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment. Promotes an environment that is encourages cohesiveness and fosters trust and open communication with team, peers and all business partners.Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and establish proactive corrective actions. Must be able to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

Contract-Back-End Data Engineer-Remote Pacific Time Zone

Responsibilities

  • Build infrastructure, tools and techniques to reduce the operational burden
  • Identify operational patterns and automate them
  • Build infrastructure and tools to seamlessly integrate with rest of infrastructure for major data migrations
  • Automate and enhance self-serve features to DataPlatform products to increase developer productivity of the team and have them focus on building new high leverage features
  • This role will help the team in handling day-to-day user support (for normal PST business hours) and participate in automating (implement features to make these user supports easy) frequently needed operations.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in building and operating scalable infrastructure and distributed systems.
  • You are passionate about making platform experience better for users. You are prompt and efficient in handling user requests and identify ways to improve the operability of the platform.
  • You are an experienced Java developer.
  • You have knowledge of Java, Python, OOP patterns, multi-threading, REST/RPC/GRPC frameworks.
  • You have experience with DI frameworks, preferably SpringBoot and Guice.
  • You have experience working with containers.
  • You have experience building, managing distributed datastores like Apache Cassandra, or Memcached or Elasticsearch or Kafka
  • Experience working on AWS ecosystem such as EC2, S3, and SQS

Sr. Electrical Engineer-Foster City, Ca-Contract

Advanced Hardware Engineering team is looking for a Senior Electrical Test Engineer to work closely with our circuit design engineers on the development of in-house electronics for our robots. You will also be involved in root causing board failures, sometimes leading you deep into the vehicle architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross functionally with various teams to develop in-house electronics for our autonomous vehicle
  • Define test plans, design and run board-level signal and power integrity tests for validating the electric design and its margins
  • Utilize internal and external standards to define and track appropriate test thresholds. Drive test coverage
  • Partner with our circuit design engineers by feeding the learnings and improvements back into the design

Qualifications

  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals in analog/digital design, communications, sensors, power supplies, and embedded systems
  • 6+ years of professional work experience
  • A genuine passion for uncovering latent issues and bugs by diagnosing hardware, software, and process issues
  • Experience with SI and PI measurement techniques
  • Experience with Gbps or faster serial buses such as GMSL or FPDlink
  • Experience running ESD and EMI tests at external test labs
  • Familiarity with lab equipment including VNA, TDR, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.
  • Experience using Python, C++, or other programming language for basic automation tasks
  • Familiarity with OS tools, shell scripting, and file system manipulation in both Linux and Windows

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience automating testing in heat chambers
  • Experience with Altium or equivalent PCB CAD package
  • Experience with SI and PI simulation
  • Specific experience simulating and validating DDR memory layouts
