Manufacturing Tech R&D-Contract-Santa Clara, CA

Role:  The Manufacturing Engineering Technician position requires intermediate computer knowledge and product troubleshooting skills. The technician will support R&D, Manufacturing and Quality staff, performing a variety of activities associated with physical and software products, including technical analysis of returned devices with use of provided tools and training.  The Technician will be required to perform product assembly and disassembly.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform product testing root cause analysis and write detailed analysis reports
  • Make entries into databases or logs
  • Compile and organize Engineering metrics (using Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc…)
  • Perform feasibility, design verification and reliability testing (hardware, electrical, firmware and software)
  • Assist with developing standard test methods
  • Assist with procuring test equipment and tools
  • Assist with ensuring equipment and tools are maintained and calibrated
  • Perform basic soldering skills
  • Basic understanding of hand tool and assembly/disassembly procedures.
  • Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):
  • 1-2 years of relevant technical experience
  • Self-starter and team player with excellent communication skills: verbal, reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, pay attention to details, and schedule time effectively
  • Working knowledge of the FDA medical device Quality Systems Regulations and international standards (QSR/ISO) applicable to class I and II product environment 
  • Ability to lift light to moderate loads, operate various types of shipping equipment, and perform related tasks.

Pay Rate-up to 34/hr.
