Principal Architect

The Architect on the Technology Applications team will be responsible for the design and realization of multicomponent solutions in a diverse enterprise ecosystem.  This position will work closely with product managers and engineers to create architecture plans for highly available, efficient and reliable systems.  Act as a consultant to bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementations. Provide training and mentoring to teammates. Assignments are broad in nature, requiring latitude for unreviewed action.

Core Job Responsibilities

Works with colleagues to provide technical leadership and planning for the implementation and transformation of solutions and services. Guides product teams on systems flexibility and constraints.

  • (5%) Set and maintain architectural standards, policies and frameworks that govern all aspects
  • of application and data integrations
  •  (15%) Managing end-to-end data architecture, from selecting the platform, designing the technical
  • architecture, and developing the application to finally testing and implementing the proposed solution
  • (10%) Provide the technical direction required to resolve complex issues to ensure the on-time
  • delivery of solutions that meet expectations
  • (10%) Lead setting up a data governance program; includes establishing a data strategy,  data governance
  • framework, policy, and standards that is in line with business processes
  • (5%) Develop reusable solutions and workarounds that are innovative and demonstrate a deep technical
  • knowledge of the affected products, processes, and the business processes
  • (5%) Support the impact assessment of changes to the systems/solutions brought about by the business’s
  • requests for change
  • (5%) Coordinating and collaborating with
  • cross-functional teams, application teams, business stakeholders, and vendors for the smooth functioning of the enterprise data system
  • (10%) Integrating technical functionality,
  • ensuring data accessibility, accuracy, and security
  • (10%) Conducting a continuous audit of data
  • management system performance, refine whenever required, and report immediately any loopholes to the stakeholders
  •  (10%) Test data pipelines and perform data analysis
  • (10%) Responsible for backlog management and sprint priority setting

Knowledge & Skills

  • Expert in data architecture and technical leadership
  • Expert in providing technical leadership with first-hand experience of the concepts of Agile methodologies
  • and related methods, plus a working knowledge of data architecture
  • Proven experience in decomposing large complex problems into component parts, as well as having
  • the ability to provide and contribute at all levels across build, test, implementation and integration activities.
  •  Strong understanding of SRE principles related to system uptime, error management, security maintenance
  • policies and application performance monitoring
  • Facilitation skills: the ability to facilitate executive workshops and obtain consensus
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing tools, especially Google Cloud Platform. 
  •  Specific understanding of the following GCP tools: Google Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, Cloud PubSub, 
  • Composer/Airflow, Apigee, Cloud DataFusion, Cloud SQL, Memory Store and Cloud Storage
  • Lead setting up a data governance program; includes establishing a data governance framework, policy,
  • and standards
  • Hands on experience implementing or utilizing Terraform for cloud resource management
  • BI tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy)
  • Well versed in collaboration tools (Jira,
  • Confluence) and code maintenance in source control (Git preferred)

Education & Experience

  • 10+ years minimum experience working with related technology in an agile team environment
  • 5+ years experience in providing data architectural solutions that transform an organization
  • 5- years experience with management of compliance efforts  (CCPA, PCI-DSS)
  • Must have experience in the following Google Cloud Platform technologies: BigQuery, Composer/Airflow,
  • SSIS, Cloud Functions, Dataflow, Cloud DataFusion, Cloud SQL, Memory Store and Cloud Storage.
  • 3+ years Python
  • Architectural knowledge integrating with SOAP and REST services. 

Pay Rates- 85-95/hr.
