Web Specialist-Contract-Manhattan Beach, Ca

The Web Specialist is a key member of the Digital Marketing team and will play a critical role in the success of the company’s awareness, marketing and fundraising efforts, as well supporting general online/digital initiatives both internal and external. The individual will be responsible for building, maintaining and deploying websites and emails to support the acquisition and engagement of constituents, event participants, donors and other to drive event participation and fundraising.

Essential Functions
• Build, update and maintain websites and pages utilizing content management systems
• Build, customize and deploy email communications utilizing email service providers
• Work with graphic designers to customize, resize and/or reformat creative assets as needed for web properties, emails and other digital projects
• Implement marketing analytics tracking and tagging on web properties and emails
• Review, test and ensure quality control of web/digital projects and emails; Use QA tools (e.g. BrowserStack, Email on Acid, Litmus, etc.) to preview & test designs/builds among devices, browsers and mail clients
• Collaborate and communicate with Marketing and other internal staff to understand and determine project requirements, troubleshoot issues, and provide status updates on tasks and projects
• Utilize project management tools (Teamwork, Basecamp, etc.) to manage projects and tasks, and communicate with project stakeholders
• Follows company brand and guidelines; ensures style guidelines are followed and project adheres to specifications and standards
• Ensure utilization of deliverability best practices and compliance of content submitted is correct and follows brand standards, privacy, spam regulation (CAN-SPAM), web accessibility/ADA compliance, etc.
• Effectively manage projects and requests to meet or exceed expectations, and deliver quality work on time;
• Responsible for other web/digital-related duties/projects as assigned by management

Qualifications and Requirements
The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
• B.A./B.S. degree in marketing, communications, web development or other related fields
• 2+ years of experience updating/maintaining websites and web content using a content management system
• 2+ years of experience creating and building emails utilizing an email service provider
• Experience with basic HTML required
• Strong attention to detail and stellar organization skills is required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment, with multiple and changing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and attention to deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and team player skills with an ability to communicate at all levels of an organization both internally and externally
• Experience with digital marketing platforms systems, email platforms
• Experience/familiarity with CSS, WC3 standards and specifications, adaptive, interactive, mobile first-design and usability principles, and Google tags are a plus
•  Experience with peer-to-peer event marketing a plus
• Non-profit experience a plus
